Harry was like a cog in the prophetic
wizarding machine. As I finished the series, I realized that he was not the
most important feature of the book anymore. In class discussions, many of us
have talked about how Harry always seems to save the day. In the last book,
this became less evident. Through the power of friendship and love, the entire
wizarding community persevered.
Reading the series for a second time and
knowing the outcome, it felt like torture when I read specific scenes with
Harry and Snape. I think Harry finally realizing the true plot of the prophecy
was rewarding to me, as a reader. It was so easy to hate, blame, and disregard
Snape as a character throughout the series the first time. I think rereading it
with a new perspective was incredibly interesting and rewarding.
