The Final Goodbye

As our journey with the greatest trio of all time has come to an end, I confess myself even more happy now than I was the very first time I read the books. Each loose end is tied and the story comes full circle. Now that I'm older I'm able to pick up on things that I didn't understand when I was younger so I think that this time I enjoyed the story even more. I think I developed at great love of Dumbledore more this time than any other time I've read the book and I can appreciate the depth of his character. Dumbledore is the definition of greatness and I think his character reflects as a representation of the greatness men that have walked the face of the earth by being so powerful but yet warm and understanding and even, when the time came, sacrificial. I am not religious by any means but Dumbledore is much like a biblical hero that gave his life so that others could go on all the while knowing that he could never really be dead because he had touched the lives of those he had met during his life. I appreciate the darkness of his character also, through his adventures with Greindwald and the duel to the death slaying his best friend; making that epic decision between "what is right and what is easy" finally choosing to take the power of the Elder Wand but only use it to protect the ones he cared about or maybe better said, those that cared for him. Dumbledore even became so humbled and afraid of the infinite power he was capable of he turned down the Minister of Magic position. This man is a character that all aspire to be like, and has inspired me and others readers to "live with love."
