This was my first time reading these books and I had only seen the first two movies. I was in complete shock when reading about Snape. That was something that I did not except at all! Through out the whole series I disliked Snape. He was always picking on Harry and loving Malfoy.. who in my opinion was a rotten, mean boy. When I read that Snape killed Dumbledore I had thought for sure that I was right all along and that Snape was on the dark side. When harry went into the pensive and looked back at Snape's thoughts about how Snape had loved his mom I was shocked. I did not except Snape's hatred towards Harry to come from loving his mom and that Harry reminded him of his dad, James. I also was completely shocked that Snape and Dumbledore had made an agreement for Snape to kill Dumbledore so that Snape could own the Elder wand and finally take over Voldemort. I am glad that Harry was able to understand were Snape was coming from from his actions. When they show Harry grow up and to see that he named one of his kids Albus Severus shows that Harry forgave Snape for his actions and valued him as much as Albus Dumbledore.

My feelings also started to change towards Dumbledore. There was a slight thought that came to my mind that Dumbledore could have been bad at one point in his life. I always thought he was doing what he thought was best as headmaster of Hogwarts but my thoughts changed about his past. I started to believe that Dumbledore could have harmed his sister and that he could have been power hungry. I now realize that Dumbledore is a human and makes mistakes. He did at one point want to posses the deathly hallows because he had lost so many people that ment the most to him. But at the end Dumbledore was willing to risk his life so that others could live. He was also looking at the best interest of others including Malfoy when he had Snape kill him instead of Malfoy.

Overall this series was AMAZING! This book teaches you to value everyone and everything. It shows that love conquers everything when Harry is protected from his mothers love. Also the love between Harry's mom and Snape protects him in the future also. It also shows how friends stick together through thick and thin. Harry, Hermione and Ron stood by each other through many situations and life threatening situations.
